After a successful 20-year career in the United States Army serving predominantely in Special Operations Units, Melanie began her career in Technical sales to the Government.
During her military career, Melanie led several organizations within Special Mission Units. As a Strategic Intelligence Officer, she initiated, developed, coordinated and executed (deployed) highly sensitive and compartmented projects that provide the Secretary of Defense a direct military response to terrorism and other hostile actions against United States’ interests. As an Operations Officer, she was responsible for planning, coordinating, preparing, and executing Special Operations Intelligence missions. As a Troop Commander, she was responsible for a Special Mission Unit with a sensitive worldwide mission in support of the Department of Defense and other government agencies. While on the Joint Staff, J-39, Special Operations, she was responsible for gaining interagency approval for SMU operations in support of the war on terror. She was also selected to be a military social aide to the President of the United States from 2005-2007.
For the past 9 years, Melanie has had a successful career in technical sales including direct sales to the DoD, IC, Federal and State/Local governments and through programs with Federal Systems Integrators.
Melanie is married to Roy Apseloff and lives in the Washington DC area.
