Brian F. Prince is the President and CEO of Hegemon Capital, Inc., a private investment asset manager, and Senior Partner of Renaissance Finance CDE, LLC, a $125 million fully-allocated New Market Tax Credits fund, both of which he founded in 2003 and are headquartered in Tampa, Florida.
He previously served as Chairman, CEO and President of Aozora Bank, Ltd., in Tokyo, Japan, from 2008 thru 2013, leading Aozora through the global economic crisis and the Great East Japan Earthquake and steering the bank to a position of strength and stability. Brian then served as President and CEO of ORIX USA Corporation, a diversified financial conglomerate headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
From 2000 to 2003, he was a key Corporate Executive Officer at Shinsei Bank, Ltd., the highly successful turnaround that listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2004. Prior to Shinsei, he built and was the head of Lehman Brothers’ Principal Transactions Group in Asia, which was selected by International Finance Review as the Asia Restructuring House of the Year (1998 & 1999). Prior to that, he was an integral part of Lehman Brothers’ NY-based finance group, which purchased or originated over $10 billion in commercial real estate loans and equity investments. Prior to Lehman, he worked at Chemical Bank and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Bank in New York in both the Corporate Banking and Real Estate areas, where he was involved in a number of high profile real estate workouts and corporate restructurings.
Brian currently serves on the University of Rochester Board of Trustees.
