Michael Boardman

In this dual role, and at the direction of the Chief Legal Officer, Michael leads the company’s legal strategy and oversees all corporate, regulatory, and compliance matters. As Ethics Compliance Officer, he is responsible for fostering a culture of integrity and ensuring adherence to the highest ethical standards across the organization.

Since joining ThayerMahan in 2023, Michael has played a key role in supporting the company’s growth and innovation in the maritime technology sector. He was promoted to General Counsel in January 2025.

Prior to ThayerMahan, Michael built a diverse legal career that includes private practice and corporate counsel roles. He previously served as a corporate and employment claims attorney for an international insurance carrier, managing complex legal issues across multiple jurisdictions.

Michael’s legal career follows nine years of service in the U.S. Navy as a Submarine Sonar Technician. While on active duty, he earned an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and two Master’s degrees, exemplifying his dedication to lifelong learning. He later earned his Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law.

He is licensed to practice law in Connecticut state and federal courts, as well as in New York state courts.
