Bio

During his successful 27-year career in the U.S. Coast Guard, Kevin primarily served in operations, including command of a USCG cutter.  

As the Chief of Planning at Sector New Orleans, he partnered with ports, maritime industry and federal, state and local government to develop and exercise plans used to secure ports, respond to incidents and enable commerce. As the Chief of Response at Sector New Orleans, he directed ports, waterways & coastal security, search and rescue, marine environmental response, drug interdiction, law enforcement, living marine resources enforcement, migrant interdiction and defense readiness missions.  He served as Incident Commander for oil spill and HAZMAT response organizations, Operations Section Chief for the DM-932 barge spill response, and Finance Section Chief for the Deepwater Horizon unified response. He managed hurricane response and was responsible for maritime security at a National Special Security Event.   

As a Certified Defense Financial Manager, he oversaw the Coast Guard’s enterprise financial policy as the Department of Homeland Security earned its first clean audit opinion.  As a Professor of Management, he taught leadership, organizational development, change management, consulting, negotiations and conflict management. 

Kevin, his wife Wendy and son Ethan live in Mystic, Connecticut.
