Offshore vessel owner Atlantic Oceanic has chartered out its recently acquired multipurpose supply unit.

The 1991-built Atlantic Spirit has been fixed for four years to Connecticut-based ThayerMahan for offshore wind-related work in Asia.

The US outfit with eight European and Jones Act-compliant offshore vessels, picked up the vessel as Tek-Ocean Spirit from Melbourne-based Tek-Ocean Energy Services earlier this year as part of its expansion into global offshore wind and oil and gas markets.

Atlantic Oceanic said the partnership with ThayerMahan “is set to enhance both companies' presence in the burgeoning offshore wind and renewable energy market across Asia and the Far East”.

The Atlantic Spirit is currently stationed in Australia and will soon mobilise to the Philippines. From June 2024, the vessel is set to embark on various programmed survey and support operations, extending from Taiwan to Singapore.
