Ken works closely with ThayerMahan customers in the Military Intelligence and Homeland
Security sectors, building relationships through the development of effective strategies and use
cases. This role is consistent with Ken’s lifelong mission: to strengthen US maritime capabilities
through the use of cutting-edge systems and innovative operating concepts.
During his successful career as a maritime and undersea professional, Ken served with
distinction in the U.S. Navy as the captain of a nuclear missile submarine, commodore of an
attack submarine squadron, commander of a deployed multi-national task force and commander
of the Navy’s largest submarine Group. He led development of advanced submarine tactics and
accelerated the deployment of unmanned mine countermeasure vehicles to forward operating
forces. Ken retired from the Navy at the rank of Rear Admiral.
In the private sector, prior to joining ThayerMahan, Ken was Vice President of Program
Integration at General Dynamics Electric Boat, where he led teams in delivering a major new
undersea capability to the Navy and developing solutions for next-generation missions.
Ken lives in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
